About the event

Join us to explore amazing tide pools right here in the Bay!

Getting there

200 Nevada Ave, Moss Beach, CA 94038

I have always found parking easily in this parking lot, but if it's full you an park along the street also. There are bathrooms and a water fountain

What to expect

We will meet at 3pm outside of the restrooms and ranger station by the parking lot. We will walk together starting at 3:15, and head down to the beach and tide pools. If you are late or having trouble finding the group, please call me at (860) 806-2550.

It's a short, beautiful hike (less than .5 miles) to the beach, but does include two flights of stairs down to the beach. You can bring a stroller for the walk portion. If you are bringing a stroller, I recommend bringing a bike lock to lock it at the top of the stairs. The beach is beautiful, and the rocky pools are very close to the stairs and easy to reach. We can walk out on the rocks while the tide is low, and peek into the pools to see who is living there.

Because it is a marine preserve, we are not allowed to collect shells or remove animals from the tide pools and beach. As the saying goes, "take only memories, leave only footprints."

Bring

Water shoes or rain boots are helpful for walking on the rocks. If the weather is warm, a bathing suit! Sun protection with sunblock, a sun hat, and sunglasses. Particularly if you are bringing children, don't forget a change of clothes, a towel, and snacks for a dry and comfortable ride home.
