Field Trip: Tide Pools at Fitzgerald Marine Preserve

Join us for beach play and tide pool exploration! There is no cost for this field trip.

Meet by the ranger station right at the parking lot, and walk together down to the beach and tide pools. It's a short, beautiful hike but does include two flights of stairs down to the beach. The tide will be lowest closer to 5pm, but we should be able to explore some areas right away. Let's see if we an spy some of the creatures we have been singing about!

Bring

Wear a bathing suit or pants that can roll up. Water shoes or rain boots are helpful for walking on the rocks. Favorite sand toys for playing on the beach! Don't forget a change of clothes and a towel and snacks for a dry and comfortable ride home.

Getting there

It's about 25-30 minute drive from the Sunset. I have always found parking easily in this parking lot. There are bathrooms.
