July: Family Outdoor Adventures in the Bay!

Here are some mostly free or low cost events that are family friendly, and would be a great way to get outside or learn about nature.

TUES 7/7 10:30AM	Alameda FREE	Hikes for Tykes	Discover who lives in the marvelous marsh and wonderful wetland of the Bay!. Meet at the observation platform near the corner of Shoreline Drive and Broadway.
SAT 7/11 10AM	Garden for the Environment SF $25	Grow Your Own Food Workshop	In this engaging workshop, learn about how to grow your own edible plants year-round in San Francisco's mild climate.
SAT 7/11 11:30AM	Randall Museum SF FREE	Meet an Animal Ambassador	Guests may have a chance to see “eyes to eyes ” with a tarantula, slither along with a snake, or even get a closer look at one of our birds of prey.
SUN 7/12 12PM	Sunset Dunes ParK SF FREE	Live Music at Sunset Dunes	Part of the Sundays at the Beach series: Live Music every 2nd Sunday from 12-2pm on the Great Highway at Judah.
MON 7/13 3PM	SFPL Mission Bay Branch FREE	A Bit About Bats	Participants will learn about local species and have the opportunity to meet live, native bats.
SAT 7/18 2PM	SF Location TBD $80	Wild Edible Plants and Medicinals	Walk with herbalist Erin McKinsey and discover the edible and medicinal plants hiding in plain sight across San Francisco. Children ages 6-12 can join a paying adult for FREE
SAT 7/18 10AM	Garden for the Environment SF $27	Urban Beekeeping Workshop	Come learn beekeeping basics! The class is designed for beginners so no prerequisite knowledge is required. You will get to see live bees in an observation hive.
WED 7/29 8PM	India Basin Park SF FREE	Full Moon Water Ritual	On the full moon each month near sundown, we gather for conversation and refreshments, share a creative and interactive ritual activity, offer traditional libration in a circle, and walk down to the pier to connect with the water and the visual convergence of the bay, full moon, and sunset that is unique to India Basin Waterfront.
